Response to Brief

Originally we set out to use the song Lost without your love by Dontaoe, but after thinking about constraints and the challenges we would face we changed our idea to a simpler yet effective idea that is more achievable.

We did storyboard and write a treatment for Lost without your love. Our original idea was to follow the story of a young man’s relationship with his girlfriend but then him meeting someone else. It was going to start off with ‘Dontaeo’ sitting in an integration room at the police station being questioned about what has happened although the audience would be unaware of what was happening. Then it was going to show flashbacks in black and white of past dates and then when he notices the other girl, then his girlfriend finding the texts and it was going to end with her running into the road and then back to him in the police station. When discussing the idea further we decided that the idea was too complicated and could get very confusing.

We then talked and finalised our new idea that we are going through with. We chose a new song called ‘Never again’ by Meaning in masterpiece. The new idea is a lot simpler but still very effective and it is different music genre. It is about a man whose wife has passed away and his life has stopped yet everything is carrying on around him, we are planning on using the fast forward effect to represent how everyday life is continuing around him yet he is stuck as he cant move on. We are also going to create a scene where there are two signs, one saying move on and one staying sleep on it to show that he is stuck on what to do.
